Hi I'm Lisa and I have been teaching Silver Clay since 2019, but have been addicted to Silver Clay since 2012.

In 2018 a few friends asked me to teach them how to use Silver Clay.  One evening we had a small workshop at home.  I loved teaching them and the best bit was seeing their faces as the clay turned into silver!  They all went away with an item of beautiful jewellery they had made that evening and I realised I wanted to teach more people the wonders of Silver Clay.

I decided, if I was going to teach people I needed to make sure I was as qualified as I could be.

Art Clay by Aida is a brand of silver clay that I currently use.  I decided to take their accredited qualifications to start my journey.

I completed my Level one Art Clay Diploma in March 2019.

Six month later in November 2019 I completed my level two.  These were both tutor lead qualifications.

During the third lowdown I worked on my level three higher Diploma pieces (photo below).  This was not tutor lead and was all out own designs.  It was hard going but I enjoyed the design and challenge.  I passed this in May 2021 and it now allows me  to teach both level one and two Diplomas which is very exciting.  Plans are currently in plan to start Level one in late Autumn 2021.

I have also completed my Award in Teaching and Education at Peter Symonda College In Winchester.

Plans are afoot to carry on my training over the next few years including PMC, a different make or silver clay and also carry on with my silver smithing techniques which I have been learning for the last 4 years at Peter Symonds and online via the Jewellery Academy.   You can never stop learning yourself even when teaching others and I plan to keep growing for my students and explaining my knowledge.

I have been teaching silver clay classes at Peter Symonds Adult Education College in Winchester, Hampshire since 2019.

I have also started an after school club at at local senior independent school and am teaching an age range from 11-18 year olds.  I am fully DBS advanced checked so if you want me to teach under 18's I can.

I will be holding classes across Hampshire at some beautiful rural locations and at a smaller location in my village for 1-1 classes and intermediate and advanced workshops.

If you have found my page and don't live near me then I would recommend finding a Silver Clay tutor that has either the Art Clay or PMC accredited qualifications, then you know you are getting a good level of teaching!

If you have any questions about Silver Clay then feel free to drop me a line.
